Chemically modification

Polysaccharides are easy and versatile to chemically modify.

Polysaccharides have numerous reactive methyl-hydroxyl groups available for chemical modification into more active groups, which can further act as anchors for biomacromolecules, specific affinity cachers and enzymes to perform different functions.

Non-destructive & complex cross-linking

Polysaccharides can achieve non-destructive & complex cross-linking.

Non-destructive cross-linking: cross-linking reactions can take place at atmospheric pressure in non-extreme acid/base environments to maintain the conformation and biological activity of the cross-linked proteins or macromolecules.

Complex cross-linking, multiple cross-linked molecules can be present in a system to achieve a complex affinity effect to selectively bind multiple target molecules simultaneously.
